This intimate bathroom renovation was conceived primarily in plan, shaped by a young client’s desire for clarity and spatial calm. The design is anchored by a continuous, curving blue wall that wraps the space and guides the user seamlessly from entry to vanity to shower. This singular gesture unifies the room and establishes a strong visual identity.
Located within a Co-Op building, the project navigated a series of spatial constraints, including rigid column placements, common ventilation shafts, and an inflexible concrete slab. These limitations became opportunities: required wall projections were reimagined as recessed cabinetry and integrated niches, providing essential storage while emphasizing the sweeping curve that defines the space.
Vertically stacked, 1x6 ceramic wall tiles in a saturated matte blue color enhance the curvature, while large format marble floor tile introduces a contrasting texture and brightness. Modern brass fixtures and a custom frameless glass shower door add a layer of refinement, completing a palette that balances boldness with restraint.
The result is a compact but richly detailed interior that transforms a utilitarian program into a serene, sculptural experience—both functional and expressive.
